As the holiday season draws near, we thought we’d share some impressions from one of the most exciting events we took part in at the start of the year, Zest It Up’s Knot Crashers. The hugely successful mock marriage ceremony and reception, hosted at the beautiful Casitas Estate, showcased some of the brightest talents in the Central Coast wedding professionals community. We’re proud to have been involved as the jeweler for the inaugural Crash! Check out the awesome images from this unique wedding planning gala, taken by award-winning Crash photographer Jay C. Winter.
Lance and Laurie’s story is the stuff of romance novels, a tale of love’s power to heal and unite. The beautiful pair were married in November 2009 and made the perfect twosome to stand in as the Crash Couple.
The handcrafted invitations to their faux nuptials were designed by Crash stationer and eco-chic invitation boutique Morningside Paper Studio, which perfectly complemented the handmade signage from Sign, Sealed, & Delivered. Floral arrangements by Noonan’s Designs turned flowers into art. Alongside the boutique furniture and accoutrements from Botanica Floral & Event Design, these touches set the stage for a unique and fun gathering for the assembled Crashers.
Choosing the right jewelry to commemorate such a special occasion may be the most crucial planning decision the couple makes, from the engagement and wedding rings to the pieces worn by the wedding party on the big day. We provided some stunning work from our bridal collections, which feature artists and designers such as Hearts On Fire, Forevermark, ArtCarved, Marco Bicego, Alishan, Todd Reed, and Alex Sepkus. Each of the pieces enhanced the elegance of the whole affair. The princess length diamond pendant worn by Laurie was handcrafted by our very own Kevin Main. The groom and groomsmen were right on time to the altar, decked out in stylish, American-made timepieces by Shinola.
Any great party requires great food and drinks! Catering By Chef Charlie brought its 46 years of creative catering to the event, while Sugar Lips Mini Donuts and Just Baked SLO satisfied guests’ collective sweet tooth. Wash it all down with local craft beer from Central Coast Brewing and you’ve got the ingredients for a wedding to remember.
And a good time was had by all! DJ Bob of Phase One Mobile DJ brought his lifelong passion for matching the mood with the music, while MelodyWed’s custom tune smithing gave the couple a first song uniquely tailored to their story. Guests hammed it up in Shutterbooth of Central California’s photobooths and every important moment was captured by Photography by Jay C. Winter and Sarah Kathleen Photography.
Knot Crashers brought all these fine folks together to give engaged couples a preview of their skills and services. We look forward to the next event!
Big thanks to Chandra and Sam from Zest It Up for putting on such an amazing event!
